Miniature horses do exist! While miniature horses are usually the size of a very small pony but many retain horse characteristics and are considered “horses” by their respective registries. They come in a variety of colors and patterns. Miniature horses are friendly and interact well with people and are often kept as pets. They are also trained as service animals to assist people with disabilities similar to guide dogs. They are generally quite hardy, often living longer on average than full-sized horses with the average life span of miniature horses ranging from 25 to 35 years.
